01 Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing or using Cook AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept any part of them, do not use the app.
These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Skaly Consulting FZ-LLC, publisher of Cook AI. We may amend them; the “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use Cook AI after a change is published constitutes acceptance of it.
02 Description of the service
Cook AI is an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to:
- Recognise ingredients from photos taken with your device.
- Generate personalized, step-by-step recipes from those ingredients, the culinary culture you choose and your preferences.
- Save recipes, build grocery lists and keep your history.
Cook AI is provided “as is” and evolves over time. Features may be added, changed or removed. We guarantee neither permanent availability nor freedom from error.
03 Eligibility & account creation
To use Cook AI you must:
- Be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country. In the European Union, users under 16 may require a parent's consent under the GDPR.
- Have a compatible iOS device (iOS 17 or later).
- Accept Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity carried out from your account. You undertake to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly if your account is compromised. A Cook AI account is personal and must not be shared.
04 Free features & Cook AI Premium
Cook AI is free to download. The artificial-intelligence features, however, are reserved for the Premium subscription:
- Without Premium: you can create an account, complete onboarding and browse the app. Italian cuisine can be viewed. AI ingredient scanning and AI recipe generation are not available — they are offered as a subscription from the first attempt.
- Cook AI Premium: unlimited ingredient scans, Signature recipe generation, access to all culinary cultures, saved recipes and grocery lists. A paid, auto-renewing subscription.
Cook AI Premium is sold as an Apple In-App Purchase, in two plans:
- Monthly — €9.99 per month, charged at purchase. This plan includes no free trial.
- Yearly — €39.99 per year, preceded by a 3-day free trial for new subscribers deemed eligible by Apple. Failing cancellation before the trial ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription.
Cancellation is carried out through Apple and not through us — full detail in our Subscription Terms.
05 Your content & your photos
You remain the owner of what you submit to Cook AI — in particular the ingredient photos you scan, and the preferences and notes you enter.
So that the service can operate, you grant us a limited licence to host, transmit and process that content for the sole purpose of running Cook AI for you: transmitting a photo to our AI provider for ingredient recognition, generating a recipe from the result, and storing the recipes and lists you choose to save. This licence is strictly limited to operating the service, lasts only as long as necessary for that purpose, and gives us no right to publish, sell or commercially exploit your content.
Photos are not retained after processing and are never made public. Their handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
06 Third-party services
Cook AI relies on third parties to function — notably Apple for distribution and payment, and providers for hosting, authentication and AI processing. Their own terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for interruptions, changes or decisions attributable to them.
In particular, everything relating to purchase, billing, refund and cancellation of a subscription is governed by Apple. The list of providers we use is published in our Privacy Policy.
07 Availability, changes & termination
We strive to keep Cook AI available, without guaranteeing continuity of service. Maintenance, a technical failure or a provider outage may make the app temporarily unreachable.
We may modify, suspend or withdraw features, and change the scope of what is accessible without Premium. Where a change materially reduces what an active paid subscription provides, we inform you before it takes effect.
You may stop using Cook AI at any time and delete your account from within the app — see the dedicated section. Remember that deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription: that is a separate step.
We may suspend or terminate access in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where the law requires it. Except in cases of abuse, we notify you beforehand where circumstances allow.
08 AI-generated recipes
Recipes, ingredient detection, cooking times, quantities and suggestions in Cook AI are generated entirely by artificial intelligence. They are provided for inspiration and convenience, and may contain errors, inaccuracies or unsuitable suggestions.
AI disclaimer: Cook AI recipes are generated automatically and are neither reviewed nor validated by a chef, a nutritionist or a food-safety expert. Always check ingredient freshness, quantities, cooking temperatures and allergen information before preparing a recipe. Your judgement and your kitchen safety practices take precedence at all times.
By using Cook AI, you acknowledge that AI-generated content may be imperfect and you accept responsibility for how you use it in your kitchen.
09 No medical or nutritional advice
Cook AI provides no medical, dietary, therapeutic or nutritional advice. Any nutritional estimates displayed are AI-generated approximations and are not suitable for medical decision-making.
If you have food allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions or any condition affecting your diet, consult a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian before following a recipe. It is for you alone to determine whether a recipe is safe and appropriate for your situation.
10 Your responsibilities & prohibited uses
When using Cook AI, you undertake to:
- Use the app lawfully and for personal, non-commercial culinary purposes.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble or circumvent any part of the app or its security.
- Not disrupt, overload or misuse Cook AI's services and infrastructure.
- Not transmit any unlawful or harmful content, or content infringing the rights of others.
- Not create multiple accounts, or use any other stratagem, to circumvent the paywall, the Premium subscription or the free-trial eligibility conditions.
- Take full responsibility for handling, preparing and cooking food in your own kitchen.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, without notice where circumstances require it.
11 Intellectual property
Cook AI — its name, logo, design, source code, models and all its content — belongs to Skaly Consulting FZ-LLC or is licensed to it, and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense or create derivative works from all or part of Cook AI without our written permission.
Recipes generated for your personal use may be freely used in your kitchen. The app, the brand and the underlying technology remain our exclusive property. You retain ownership of content you create outside the app.
12 Disclaimer of warranties
Cook AI is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be available continuously, without interruption or error.
- AI-generated recipes will be accurate, complete, safe or suited to your dietary needs.
- Ingredient scanning results will always be correct.
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of implied warranties. In such cases, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted by local law.
13 Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Skaly Consulting FZ-LLC shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, special or punitive damages relating to your use of Cook AI, including:
- Harm resulting from relying on a recipe, an ingredient list or instructions generated by AI.
- Allergic reactions, illness or injury linked to preparing or consuming a recipe.
- Data loss, service interruptions or errors in the app.
Where liability cannot be excluded in full by law — in particular under the consumer law applicable in your country of residence — our total liability to you shall not exceed the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
14 Governing law & jurisdiction
Cook AI is published by Skaly Consulting FZ-LLC, a company established in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, United Arab Emirates. These terms are governed by the law applicable to that company at its place of establishment, and any dispute falls in principle within the jurisdiction of the courts competent there.
This does not deprive you of the protection of consumer law in your own country. If you use Cook AI as a consumer, you keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country where the applicable law gives you that right.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Purchases made through the App Store are additionally subject to Apple's own terms of sale.
